Union receiver Kyler Pearson says he is going to play football for the Jayhawks.
“After another great talk with @CoachLesMiles I am very excited to say that I am committed to (the University of Kansas)!” Pearson announced Monday on his Twitter account.
The 5-foot-8, 150-speedster caught passes and handled duties in the return game last fall, helping lead the Redskins to the 6A Division I semifinals.
He is one of 10 candidates in the receiver category in this year’s All-World Preseason Football Contest. Readers may vote throughout the summer at OKPrepsExtra.com to determine the best high school football players in the Tulsa area.
While KU was Pearson’s first offer, he also received recruiting interest from Army, Navy, Air Force, Abilene Christian and Missouri State, among others.
A verbal commitment is nonbinding. December is the earliest that high school seniors may sign NCAA letters of intent.
