Tulsa World: Union WR Kyler Pearson commits to KU

Union receiver Kyler Pearson says he is going to play football for the Jayhawks.

โ€œAfter another great talk with @CoachLesMiles I am very excited to say that I am committed to (the University of Kansas)!โ€ Pearson announced Monday on his Twitter account.

The 5-foot-8, 150-speedster caught passes and handled duties in the return game last fall, helping lead the Redskins to the 6A Division I semifinals.

He is one of 10 candidates in the receiver category in this yearโ€™s All-World Preseason Football Contest. Readers may vote throughout the summer at OKPrepsExtra.com to determine the best high school football players in the Tulsa area.

While KU was Pearsonโ€™s first offer, he also received recruiting interest from Army, Navy, Air Force, Abilene Christian and Missouri State, among others.

A verbal commitment is nonbinding. December is the earliest that high school seniors may sign NCAA letters of intent.
